Bespoke engagement
Strategy and coordination for launches, partnerships and business milestones, planned against defined objectives and measured afterwards rather than treated as occasions to be got through.
Typically from £1,995.
The problem
Businesses mark genuine milestones: a launch, an anniversary, a partnership, a new site. Too often they are treated as events to be organised rather than as opportunities to be used.
The result is money spent, a pleasant afternoon, and no measurable connection to anything the business was trying to achieve. Nobody agreed beforehand what success would look like, so nobody can say afterwards whether it was achieved.
The organising is rarely the hard part. Deciding what the occasion is for is the hard part, and it is usually skipped.
Purpose
We establish what the milestone is genuinely for: which relationships it should build, which audiences it should reach, and what should be true afterwards that is not true now. The plan and the coordination then follow from that.
Aston Finch leads the strategy, the objectives, the measures of success and the coordination. Where specialist production is required, we bring in and manage appropriate external partners rather than pretending to be them.
When it helps
Usually when something genuinely significant is approaching and the stakes are commercial rather than social.
What is included
Every engagement is bespoke. There are no packages, and the shape follows what the milestone is for.
Aston Finch leads and coordinates. Specialist production is delivered by external partners engaged for the purpose, and we say plainly which is which.
Deliverables
Boundaries
Please note
The sequence
A discussion about the milestone and what the business wants to be true afterwards. This is where most of the value is created, and it is frequently the conversation nobody has had.
Agreeing what success means specifically enough to be assessed later, and what would represent a poor use of the budget.
What we are leading, what partners are required, what you will have, and what it costs. Agreed before anything is committed.
Building the plan and bringing in the partners it needs, with regular check-ins to keep decisions tied to the objective rather than to momentum.
Coordination through the occasion itself, and afterwards an honest assessment against what was agreed at the start.
The fee
Indicative fee
Typically from £1,995.
That is a genuine starting point rather than a headline. The fee depends on scope, which we agree with you first and confirm in writing before any work begins. There are no packages, no tiers and no day rates.
Arrange an initial discussionAfterwards
Some engagements cover one milestone. Others cover a series across a year, where the value is in the connection between them rather than in any one.
Both are scoped individually. A longer programme is not a retainer and carries no minimum commitment; it is simply a larger piece of work agreed in advance.
Questions
A genuine starting point rather than a headline. Advisory for a single, contained occasion sits at the lower end; a launch programme with several partners and a series of moments across a year does not. We agree the scope and confirm the fee in writing before anything is committed.
No. We are an independent business advisory firm. Our role is the strategy, the objectives, the measures and the coordination. Venues, production, catering and staffing are delivered by external specialists, identified and engaged for the particular occasion and managed by us against the plan.
Yes, and often that is the right answer. Where you already have people who do this well, we coordinate them against the plan rather than replacing them.
Then the question is whether it will achieve what you want it to. That is a shorter conversation and sometimes a shorter engagement, and we will say so rather than expanding the brief.
By whatever was agreed at the start, which varies. It might be relationships opened, a specific audience reached, coverage achieved or enquiries generated. We agree measures that can genuinely be assessed rather than ones that merely sound impressive.
It is optional. Where the objectives were commercial and measurable it is usually worth doing. Where the occasion was genuinely about goodwill, a formal analysis would be manufacturing significance, and we would say so.
Referral is an outcome of past work rather than a channel a business operates. The five costs of depending on it, why they stay invisible, and how to add a second route without changing character.
Growth does not create problems; it reveals the constraints already there. The structural characteristics that let a business absorb demand, and the order in which they are worth building.
A short conversation about what is approaching, and what you would want to be true afterwards, is enough to establish whether advisory of this kind would add anything.
